The National Salvation Society
is a non-profit organization of social utility (ONLUS) active in maritime rescue and safety flashing.
The course for the qualification to the profession of "Lifeguard" is carried out by "highly qualified instructors in the marine arts for the Rescue" and by a doctor.
The course program is divided into theoretical and practical lessons.
There are several topics that, from time to time, are dealt with by the Instructors in specific training lessons (see the exam rules). In addition to the theoretical concepts (meteorology, ordinance of the Harbor Master's Office, treatment of water in the pool, etc.) the students are prepared with practical tests (swimming rescue, rowing, knots, first aid). At the end of the training period, the "aspiring Lifeguard Rescue" course participants will take the qualifying exam required by current legislation
